Psalm 46:1-3

“I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance , I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:12-13
From Nathan:
I used to get a real kick out of when our worship team made mistakes, or when the soundboard started glitching, or when the power would go out in the middle of a service, or someone would hit a “dubious choice” of chords. Those were the moments when I would experience the pinnacle of worship because I realized how flawed people are and how inadequate we are to be called children of God. The moment we realize our insufficiency we can, and should, turn immediately to the perfections of Jesus Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. When all of our greatest plans just don’t seem to be having the intended result, it should drive us to seek the Lord and to lay down our self sufficiency and trust completely in God’s plan, power and purpose in all things. While we are still motivated and working hard towards putting together the resources and family changes needed to go to seminary this fall, what we used to call “curveballs” on the worship team (in human terms; things that stress us out or become barriers) are arising in life, with the Corona virus fears and the possibility of a delay in our move. Obstacles are not a means to slow us down, or deter us, or even stop us. They are an opportunity for us to exercise true faith in God, turn to Him for guidance and submit to His will being revealed through providence – even when it seems like a tough situation. God is always good, no matter the circumstance and God cares much less about the circumstances we are in, than our hearts as we respond to those circumstances. We remain diligent in our pursuit to accomplish the move this fall, but if there is a delay we know that it is a good thing, because God causes causes all things to work together for good, to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28).
For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8:24-25
Fundraising Update
Our fundraising is on track, with a few more financial donations, a huge amount of garage sale donations and can and bottle donations. We are also grateful for the opportunities God has given both Nathan and me to have extra work over spring break. The money earned from these unexpected but welcomed opportunities will go directly to our fundraising effort! We do however, think it is wise to extend our fundraising efforts and wait to apply for our visas until later this spring (instead of early April as originally planned). We are grateful that there is enough flexibility in our timelines, that we can be patient to see how this situation with COVID-19 turns out. In an effort to support social distancing as requested by our government, we are postponing the garage sale for the time being. We will keep everyone posted about a new date. We will continue to collect refundable cans and bottles and sell some of our things online. Click here for our GoFundMe.
“for we walk by faith, not by sight–we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”
